Wayne Tanabe

Wayne has been associated with brass instrument repair for over 30 years, and founded The Brass Bow repair shop near Chicago in 1983. Widely recognized for his pioneering work in the field of brass instrument repair, cryogenics, and precise valve alignments, he has also been a consultant for instrument design and development of components for many manufacturers. With his former company Chicago BrassWorks, Wayne also manufactured a line of custom-built trumpets. In addition he has earned two patents with an associate for designing a system of tools using magnetics for the removal of dents in brass instruments. He is currently the Senior Technical Manager for Yamaha Artist Services in New York city and lead brass technician at the New York Atelier.
