Seminar for College-bound Singers & their Parents

Location: Colbourn Hall, Room 148

This seminar is designed specifically to aide young singers who aspire to major in music in college, and to better inform parents on how to guide and help their child through this often overwhelming process. The seminar will cover the most important aspects of college preparation, selection, admission and audition. Sub-topics include resume building, repertoire choices, GPA, choosing a voice teacher and scholarships.

Space is limited, so reservations are suggested.
This seminar has been relocated from Orlando Opera to the University of Central Florida.

All-State Clinics

All-State Preparation Clinic: Band & Jazz Band

Date: Saturday August 29, 2009, 9:30am - 4:45pm
Location: Visual Arts Building, Main Campus
Cost: FREE

Pre-registration for this year's clinic is required. Download the appropriate registration form below and mail completed form to John Almeida as indicated.

UCF Department of Music presents the 4th annual clinic on how to prepare for the Florida Bandmasters Association 2010 All-State Band and Jazz Band Audition.

• UCF applied music faculty and guest instrumentalists will offer clinics on FBA 2010 All-State Band and Jazz Band requirements for 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 grades.
• Emphasis will be placed on All-State exercise preparation, tone production, technique development, scales, sight-reading strategies, and audition readiness.
• Students should bring instruments, All-State music, and be prepared to play.
• UCF will provide all the percussion instruments. Students are required to bring their sticks, mallets and music.
